Senior BIM Modeler (Mech)

Key Responsibilities

Develop and maintain accurate, coordinated 3D BIM models for mechanical systems using Autodesk Revit MEP, ensuring integration with electrical and plumbing disciplines as required.

Assist mechanical engineers in design input, including HVAC layout, duct and pipe routing, equipment sizing / placement, air flow calculations, and other technical documentation or modelling tasks as required.

Generate and update mechanical drawings, such as HVAC plans, duct and piping schematics, equipment schedules, and sections, in accordance with project standards and local / international codes.

Collaborate in a multidisciplinary BIM environment, working closely with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to ensure seamless model integration and design coordination.

Participate in clash detection and model coordination using tools like Navisworks Manage, and assist in resolving issues during internal and external coordination meetings.

Ensure compliance with project-specific BIM Execution Plans (BEPs), Surbana Jurong’s modelling standards, and ISO 19650 protocols.

Support model and drawing management tasks on BIM 360 / ACC or other Common Data Environments (CDEs), including version control and model updates.

Contribute to the continuous development of BIM workflows, Revit families, and design automation tools to improve efficiency and quality.

Participate in QA / QC reviews of models and deliverables, ensuring a high standard of accuracy, consistency, and constructability.

Coordinate with regional and global project teams (e.g., Singapore, Australia, Middle East), supporting delivery across multiple time zones when required.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

Experience

Minimum 5 years of experience in BIM modelling and documentation of mechanical building systems.

Familiarity with modelling standards and mechanical design principles; exposure to multidisciplinary coordination is essential.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP, AutoCAD, and Navisworks Manage.

Working knowledge of BIM 360 / ACC and Microsoft Office tools.

Understanding of mechanical system types (e.g., HVAC, chilled water, ventilation, exhaust, pressurization, and mechanical plant).

Soft Skills

Good written and verbal communication skills in English.

Strong attention to detail and quality.

Ability to work well in teams and meet project deadlines.

Desirable but not required

Exposure to international project standards and codes (e.g., ASHRAE, SMACNA, BS, AS / NZS).

Experience collaborating with regional or global teams across different time zones.
