Brand New Day Facility Repair and Maintenance Person

Brand New Day is looking for a facility repair and maintenance person.

Commitment : Minimum 2 months, preferred at least 6 months to career

Qualifications :

• High school graduate who is at least 21 years old.
• Born-again Christian who desires to glorify God and be used by Him in partnership with BND.
• Active in a local church and recommended by his / her pastor.
• Subject to approval requirements and screening by ACTION’s sending office.
• Basic CMU and concrete construction experience with at least one year experience.

Task Description :

Brand New Day owns a 1.3-acre piece of land with the vision to build shelter homes and a multi-purpose building in the future, as funds become available. Currently, on the land there are two small, occupied homes as well as a boundary wall which was recently finished. We have a need for someone who has construction experience, particularly with CMU and cement construction, to manage small construction projects on-site and facilitate maintenance of the property, while working alongside and training one or two young men from BND. When construction begins for the bigger buildings with a local Filipino contractor, we also need someone to oversee the project on behalf of BND ministry leaders. (A commitment of at least six months would be needed for this.) Landscaping / gardening on the property is also a big need.

Note : For time periods longer than 4 months, part-time language school will also be required.
