This is a remote position.

Schedule :

  • Mondays to Wednesdays, 8 : 30 am to 3 : 10 pm
  • 20+ hours per week (with potential to scale to full time - 40 hours per week - within 2-3 months)
  • Client timezone :   Standard time : Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST), UTC+10, Daylight saving time (summer) : Australian Eastern Daylight Time (AEDT), UTC+11

A thriving hair salon in Tasmania that’s been growing steadily for nearly two years. The business recently transitioned to company structure and is focused on getting back on track with organized systems while continuing to serve their established client base. The owner is passionate about creating a supportive environment where team members can grow alongside the business.

Job Description :

You’ll be the organizational backbone for a growing beauty business, helping transform chaos into clarity while building systems that scale. This role offers incredible variety – one day you’re catching up on financial records, the next you’re scheduling appointments and greeting clients. You’ll work directly with the business owner to establish processes that free up their time to focus on growth, making you an essential part of the team’s success story.

Responsibilities :

  • Catch up on bookkeeping backlog from July 2025 onwards and establish ongoing financial record maintenance
  • Perform daily bookkeeping tasks including reconciliation, invoicing, and transaction recording using QuickBooks or Xero
  • Handle reception duties including answering inbound calls and managing customer inquiries
  • Manage appointment scheduling and booking using Fresha software platform
  • Maintain accurate financial records and assist with ATO compliance requirements
  • Support general administrative tasks as the business grows and evolves
  • Collect and organize account information and maintain comprehensive record keeping
  • Potentially expand into payroll processing as the business scales
  • Requirements

  • Proven experience with bookkeeping and data entry tasks
  • Familiarity with accounting software (QuickBooks or Xero strongly preferred)
  • Strong communication skills for customer-facing reception duties
  • Ability to quickly learn new software systems (specifically Fresha scheduling platform)
  • Reliable internet connection and personal computer setup for remote work
  • Available for minimum 20 hours per week during Australian business hours
  • Bonus if you have hair and beauty industry experience
