Business Analyst – Cards & Payments. (Reconciliation & Operations Focus)

Travel Requirement : Open to travel onsite for Philippines location (as required by the project)
Role Overview :
We are seeking a Business Analyst with strong Cards and Payments domain expertise to support large‑scale cards platform migration and transformation programs. This role will play a critical part in functional gap analysis, reconciliation validation, test execution, and operational readiness , ensuring a smooth transition between legacy and target card processing platforms.
The Business Analyst will work closely with Business, Operations, IT, Testing, and Vendor teams throughout the delivery lifecycle, from requirements analysis through post‑go‑live stabilization.
Key Responsibilities :
Functional Requirements & Gap Analysis
- Analyze Business Requirement Documents (BRDs) and identify functional gaps between legacy cards platforms and target systems.
- Translate business requirements into clear User Stories and functional specifications covering end‑to‑end card processing.
- Validate alignment of new system capabilities with existing cards operations, controls, and settlement processes .
Reconciliation & Settlement Validation
Review and validate reconciliation strategies across authorization, clearing, settlement, and billing processes.Ensure discrepancy detection logic, routing, and settlement rules are correctly defined and implemented.Support validation of financial and operational reports used by Operations and Finance teams.Testing & Defect Management
Validate test scripts for functional, integration, and reconciliation testing for cards operations.Actively support test execution , analyze defects, and participate in defect triage calls.Perform root‑cause analysis (RCA) in collaboration with Technology and Vendor teams to ensure accurate defect resolution.Data Transformation & Migration Support
Analyze migration and transformation requirements for cardholder, account, transaction, and financial data .Validate data mappings, transformation rules, and post‑migration reconciliation results .Support data validation sign‑off to ensure data completeness and accuracy.Operational Readiness & Process Modeling
Create and validate As‑Is and To‑Be process flows for cards operations.Develop, review, and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for the target system.Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and provide hands‑on support to business users during execution.Must‑Have Skills & Experience :
Cards & Payments Domain Expertise
Strong understanding of card issuing lifecycle, transaction flows, and back‑office operations .In‑depth knowledge of clearing, settlement, reconciliation, and dispute handling processes .Reconciliation & Settlement Logic
Proven experience reviewing reconciliation frameworks, discrepancy analysis, and settlement validation .Functional Gap Analysis
Ability to identify and document gaps between legacy and target cards platforms and propose functional solutions.Testing & Defect Triage
Hands‑on experience validating test cases, managing defects, and conducting defect RCA for cards systems .Operational Process Modeling
Experience documenting operational workflows and SOPs to support go‑live and steady‑state operations.Data Transformation
Experience analyzing cards data elements , migration scope, and data transformation logic.
