Role Overview
The ESG Auditor will be responsible for assessing and verifying organizations environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices to ensure alignment with international sustainability standards. The role involves conducting third-party assurance audits, evaluating ESG data accuracy, and facilitating client training to promote sustainable and responsible business operations.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, or a related field
- At least 3 years of experience in an ESG-related role such as auditor, verifier, or project manager
- Completion of a Lead Auditor Course in any of the following : ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, or ISO 50001 (additional certifications in ISO 14064, Carbon Neutrality, GRI, ISO 37001, ISO 31000, or SA 8000 are an advantage)
- Preferably with experience in a third-party certification or assurance body as an Auditor / Lead Auditor / Verifier
- Strong analytical, communication, and report-writing skills
- Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and maintain professionalism in client interactions
Duties and Responsibilities
Conduct ESG audits and assessments in accordance with international standards such as the ISO 14064 series, ISO 14068-1, and other sustainability frameworksPerform third-party assurance and verification of clients ESG information, reports, and disclosuresEvaluate organizational management systems related to environmental performance, social responsibility, and governance controlsPrepare detailed audit reports and findings, highlighting compliance status and areas for improvementFacilitate and deliver training programs (public and in-house) on ESG standards, sustainability reporting, and best practicesEnsure audits are completed in compliance with relevant procedures, ethical standards, and reporting timelinesSupport the continuous improvement of audit methodologies and contribute to ESG knowledge-sharing within the organization
