Key responsibilities
a. Create fabrication and erection drawings : Transform engineering and architectural designs into detailed drawings that guide steel fabricators and erectors.
b. Interpret design plans : Analyze architectural and structural drawings to understand the design intent and requirements.
c. Ensure accuracy and compliance : Verify that drawings are accurate and comply with industry standards (e.g., AISC, AWS) and local building codes.
d. Collaborate with project teams : Work with engineers, architects, and fabricators to resolve design issues and ensure the project meets specifications and deadlines.
e. Utilize CAD software : Use computer-aided design (CAD) software, such as Tekla Structures or Advance Steel, to create 2D and 3D models and drawings.
f. Minimize field modifications : Identify and resolve potential construction issues during the detailing phase to avoid problems during erection.
Required skills
a. Ability to read and interpret structural and architectural drawings
