FHI 360 is seeking a qualified candidate who will serve as thePrincipal Investigatorfor a potential US CDC-funded work that seeks to reduce tuberculosis (TB) burden and mortality in countries and settings with high TB burden in Southeast Asia by strengthening the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of TB through the adoption and expansion of innovative approaches. Activities will focus on : (1) Expanding early TB diagnosis by implementing active case finding using advanced and innovative screening methods and scale-up of novel TB diagnostic approaches, (2) Advancing TB prevention interventions including expansion of TB preventive treatment to at risk populations, conducting readiness assessments and introduction of new TB vaccines, and increasing infection prevention and control capacity and support. (3) Improving TB and drug-resistant TB treatment outcomes for all individuals affected by TB by implementation of novel and shorter TB treatment regimens.
JobSummary :
If the prospective project is awarded to FHI 360, the Principal Investigator (PI) will leadanddirectthe developmentandimplementationprocessfortheprojectinvolving departmental and cross-functional teams focused on the delivery of a potential regional US CDC funded TB activity. Theyare responsible forachieving the project’s vision and strategy, directing the project technical, strategic information, and program management directors, and managing critical relationships with the donor, national and international partners, and other key stakeholders. The PI has overall programmatic and fiscal responsibility for the project, including ensuring successful implementation of the work plan and achievement of targets and goals, effectively communicating accomplishments, making financial reports, and ensuring compliance with all US government policies and relevant regulations. They willmonitorthe project from initiationthroughdeliveryand ensurethat thecompletionofprojectactivitiesison scheduleandwithinapprovedbudget.They will select,develop,andevaluatepersonneltoensure the efficient operation of the project.The preferred candidate will have strong TB technical experience as well as program leadership experience.

Works closely with countryproject teams to ensure project implementationremainstechnically sound and promotescross-country learning, best practice exchange, and harmonization of approaches.
Responsibleforinductionofprojectstaff,ensuringtheirfamiliaritywithmandatevalues, quality standards, policies and projectobjectivesand their individual responsibilities in upholding these standards and policies.
Oversees the sub-contract and sub-grant cycle from pre-award to close- outincluding solicitation processes, pre-award, award,monitoringand close-out of sub-awards based on donor regulations, policies, and procedures.
Respondsto issues that arise during sub-award / contract, and award projectimplementation, including but not limited to, financial reporting, issuing modifications, oversight of compliance with terms and conditions and resolution of disputes, and resolving audit (financial and / orgeneral performance) findings.
Managesrelationshipswithdonorand projectagreement / contract.
Provides direction to country leadership on senior-level policy and technical dialogue with ministries of health and other government ministries and units.
Ensures thetimelyand complete submission of all performance reports and responses to donor requests for performance, success stories, and financial information for the project.
Representsand / or ensures FHI 360 is represented at technical meetings, conferences, and workshops.
Supervisesand mentorsall senior management staff.
Coordinateswith other donor-funded implementing partners on commonobjectivesandactivities, as needed.
Ensures effective communication across the entire project with team and relevant stakeholders, including, among others, (1) providing regular briefings and updates to relevant parties (, supervisors) (2) facilitating regular team meetings to share information across project components and (3) contributing to positive and smoothly functioning relationships with external partners, including international partners and national implementing partners.
Maintains a strong and wide network with key partners and stakeholders in theTBarena and ensures that the project is representedonappropriate steeringand advisory groups.

10+yearsofrelevantexperiencewithprojectsmanagementprinciplesand practices (including 5+ years ofstrategic leadership and / orline management experiencewith large USG-funded awards).
Strong direct experienceworking in tuberculosis.
Proficientwithapplicablerules,regulations,andpoliciesassociatedwithinternational development and non-governmental organizations (NGOs).
Experience working in partnership with Government agencies, international donors, or other multilateral agencies.
Experience managingsub recipients.
Demonstrated experience in multi-sector project management andimplementation.
