TASQ is seeking a lead consultant in business intelligence and analytics to work remotely from 5 PM to 2 AM Philippine Time. Due to logistical reasons, only applicants based in the Philippines will be considered for this position.

We are looking for lead consultants with strong expertise in Power BI, particularly in data quality. Since Power BI's effectiveness depends heavily on reliable data, candidates should possess advanced knowledge of Power BI and its components, such as Power Query / M, DAX, and dimensional modeling. Basic report design experience is also necessary. Familiarity with traditional SQL Server tools like data warehouse architecture, SSIS, and SSRS, as well as DirectQuery, is a plus. It's important to understand Power BI licensing models to advise clients on the best options for their needs. Experience working with Databricks to develop and optimize data pipelines is required. Excellent communication skills are essential for collaborating with clients, their teams, and technical specialists such as database developers and software engineers. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities and a good grasp of both the technical and business aspects of BI. Staying current with the latest Power BI features is also important. Your primary responsibilities will include engaging with clients to understand their reporting requirements. You'll collaborate on selecting appropriate Power BI licensing options, understanding their strengths and limitations. Building efficient star schema data models, including calculated columns and measures, will be part of your tasks. You will develop Power BI solutions by importing data from diverse sources, designing reports and dashboards, and creating data elements using DAX and source queries. Guiding clients through deploying these solutions within Power BI service, including configuring gateways, DirectQuery, data flows, and refresh schedules, is also required.

Candidates should hold at least a bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, data science, or a related field, or have equivalent practical experience. A minimum of five years of experience working with data and BI solutions within the Microsoft ecosystem or with other tools like Business Objects, MicroStrategy, Qlik, or SAP is necessary. Familiarity with TSQL, data modeling, and reporting in Power BI or similar tools is important. Experience creating comprehensive reports with linked content, drill-downs, and nested parameters is essential. Advanced DAX skills for creating dynamic measures, along with data mashups and transformations using Power Query / M, are highly valued. Experience with Databricks for building data pipelines is also required. The ability to clearly communicate visual design choices and report interactions is important. Designing intuitive, user-friendly interfaces that require minimal training is part of the role. You should also be proficient in gathering requirements and conducting focus groups to understand business processes.

Professional skills that are important include a strong interest in teamwork. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are necessary to collaborate effectively with both technical and non-technical teams. A passion for learning new technologies and a problem-solving mindset are highly desirable. The ability to adapt quickly in a dynamic environment is also crucial.

Additional preferred experience includes managing Power BI tenants and workspaces for development, testing, and deployment, as well as creating custom visualizations using Python or R within Power BI. Skills in advanced SQL, including query tuning, and conducting data quality assessments are advantageous. Experience deploying Power BI reports on-premises using Power BI Report Server or embedding reports with Power BI Embedded is a plus. Knowledge of deploying cloud-based Power BI solutions on Azure, such as Azure Data Factory, Data Lake, and SQL Database, is also beneficial.
