Team Leader / Consumer Credit Underwriting Australian Consumer Lender Overview The Team Lead, Consumer Credit Underwriting is a senior, hands-on leadership role, responsible for guiding a team of experienced underwriters to consistently achieve performance, quality, and compliance targets.

In addition to leading, mentoring, and coaching a team of capable and committed underwriters, the Team Lead will personally assess complex or escalated applications and provide approval for files that fall outside standard Delegated Lending Authority (DLA).

The role plays a critical part in ensuring responsible lending outcomes, maintaining regulatory compliance, and developing individual and team capability within a structured, policy-driven consumer finance environment.

Key Duties and Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a team of consumer credit underwriters.

Drive performance across productivity, quality, turnaround time, and compliance.

Review complex or escalated applications and approve outside-DLA files.

o Maintain a personal underwriting caseload as required.

Ensure consistent application of credit policy and responsible lending standards.

Support onboarding, training, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Instil a strong culture of teamwork and engagement.

Act as an escalation point and work closely with operations and client stakeholders.

We’re Looking For Minimum of 5 years’ experience in consumer credit underwriting within a regulated lending environment.

3–5 years’ experience in a team leadership or senior / mentoring capacity.

Strong working knowledge of consumer credit assessment and verifications.

Good understanding of the Australian regulatory framework, including Privacy, NCCP, and responsible lending.

Demonstrated ability to coach and develop experienced underwriters.

o Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.

Confident spoken and written English communication skills.

Positive, solutions-focused mindset with a strong sense of accountability.

Full-time onsite role in Ortigas Centre, Pasig City.
