Overview

Our client is a fast-growing, medium-sized organisation seeking a dynamic Head of HR & Marketing to join their leadership team. This hybrid role combines deep HR expertise (with Australian experience, including working with unions and navigating complex awards) with hands-on marketing leadership. The ideal candidate will pair formal HR training with practical marketing and communications experience gained in a scaling start-up environment. You will be both strategic and hands-on—capable of building processes, leading teams, and rolling up your sleeves when needed.

Job Highlights

  • Monthly Rate : Approximately PHP 300,000
  • Paid Hours per Week : 40
  • Schedule : Flexible within the client’s business hours, Melbourne, AU Time
  • Work Arrangement : Work from home
  • Contract : Independent Contractor

Responsibilities

  • Lead all HR functions across the business, including workforce planning, performance management, employee relations, and compliance.
  • Provide expert guidance on Australian employment law, awards, and union negotiations.
  • Design and implement scalable HR processes for recruitment, onboarding, learning and development, and retention.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to the leadership team on culture, engagement, and people strategy.
  • Build systems to support international teams while ensuring alignment with Australian standards.
  • Marketing & Communications

  • Own the company’s brand, corporate communications, and external positioning.
  • Lead marketing strategy and execution across digital, social, PR, and field marketing channels.
  • Manage internal communications to ensure alignment with organisational priorities.
  • Oversee content creation, campaigns, and community engagement, including paid social media strategy.
  • Collaborate with sales and leadership to deliver consistent messaging and growth-oriented campaigns.
  • Requirements

  • 5+ years of combined experience in HR and marketing, including leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong Australian HR background, with proven experience in union and award negotiations.
  • Demonstrated marketing experience in a fast-growing start-up or scale-up environment.
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with a hands-on, execution-focused approach.
  • Strong leadership, team management, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Preferred : APAC-based expat with Australian HR experience.
