Delivery Driver

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Transporting Goods :

Pick up and drop off packages, parcels, or other items from a distribution center or business to customer locations.

Route Optimization :

Plan and follow efficient routes to meet delivery schedules and navigate in various weather conditions.

Vehicle Maintenance :

Conduct daily vehicle inspections, perform basic maintenance, and keep the vehicle clean and in good working order.

Customer Interaction :

Greet customers, verify orders, handle payments, and provide excellent customer service.

Record Keeping :

Log deliveries, process delivery documentation, and maintain accurate delivery records.

Safety & Compliance :

Adhere to traffic laws, safety regulations, and transportation guidelines.

Required Skills

Driving Skills :

Safe and courteous operation of a vehicle, including knowledge of navigation tools like GPS.

Customer Service :

Ability to engage with customers politely and professionally, addressing inquiries and resolving issues.

Physical Stamina :

Capability to lift and carry packages, sometimes up to 50 lbs, and get in and out of the vehicle.

Attention to Detail :

Verifying correct items, checking invoices, and maintaining accurate delivery logs.

Communication :

Clearly communicating with dispatch, customers, and other team members.

Qualifications

A valid driver's license.

A clean driving record is often preferred.

Previous customer engagement or delivery experience may be a plus.

Physical fitness to perform the tasks, including lifting.
