Job description

The Role : Job Responsibilities

Data Analysis & SQL Development

Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from multiple databases
Develop and maintain stored procedures, views, and functions
Perform data validation, cleansing, and quality assurance
Optimize SQL queries for performance and efficiency
Create automated data extraction processes and ETL workflows
Collaborate with database administrators to ensure data integrity

Power BI Report Development

Design and develop interactive dashboards and reports using Power BI Desktop

Create and maintain Power BI datasets and data models

Implement DAX calculations for advanced analytics

Publish reports to Power BI Service and manage workspace permissions

Schedule automated data refreshes and monitor report performance

Create custom visualizations and implement best practices for dashboard design

Business Analysis & Requirements Gathering

Work with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into technical specifications

Conduct data discovery sessions to identify key metrics and KPIs

Perform gap analysis and recommend solutions for business challenges

Document functional requirements and create user stories

Facilitate workshops and requirements gathering sessions

Create process flow diagrams and business process documentation

Stakeholder Management & Communication

Present findings and insights to business users and executive leadership

Train end-users on Power BI reports and self-service analytics

Provide ongoing support and maintenance for deployed solutions

Create user documentation and training materials

Collaborate with IT teams, data engineers, and other analysts

Ideal Profile :

Required Qualifications

Experience

1-2 years of experience in business analysis or related role

Proven experience writing SQL queries and working with relational databases

Hands-on experience developing Power BI reports and dashboards

Experience with data analysis and reporting in a business environment

Technical Skills

Advanced SQL proficiency including :

o Complex joins, subqueries, and window functions

o Stored procedures and functions

o Data manipulation (INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE)

o Performance optimization techniques

Power BI expertise including :

o Report and dashboard development

o DAX calculations and measures

o Data modeling and relationships

o Power Query for data transformation

o Power BI Service administration

Experience with database systems (SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar)

Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables)

Analytical Skills

Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities

Experience with statistical analysis and data interpretation

Knowledge of business intelligence concepts and methodologies

Understanding of data visualization best practices

Ability to identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in data

Soft Skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Strong presentation skills with ability to explain technical concepts to nontechnical audiences

Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills

Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously

Collaborative mindset with strong interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

Education & Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field

Microsoft Power BI certification (DA-100 or PL-300)

SQL Server certifications (MCSA or equivalent)

Six Sigma or Lean certification is a plus

Additional Experience

Experience with cloud platforms (Azure, AWS)

Knowledge of programming languages (Python, R, VBA)

Experience with other BI tools (Tableau, QlikView, Looker)

Understanding of Agile / Scrum methodologies
