We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with strong Xero expertise to manage day-to-day financial operations across multiple clients. This role involves handling reconciliations, AP / AR processing, journal entries, reporting, and preparation of BAS / IAS working papers. You will collaborate closely with senior bookkeepers, accountants, and clients, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely delivery of financial information.
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly bank and credit card reconciliations.
- Process accounts payable and receivable transactions accurately and in a timely manner.
- Record journal entries, maintain general ledgers, and generate management reports, profit & loss statements, and other client deliverables for multiple clients.
- Assist in preparing BAS and IAS working papers (lodgement handled by BAS Agents).
- Support senior bookkeepers in completing monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting cycles by preparing accurate financial information for review.
- Use Xero extensively for bookkeeping, reporting, and reconciliations (Xero certification preferred), with additional support for QuickBooks (highly advantageous) and MYOB (minority of cases).
- Utilise Pixie (Pure Workflow) for workflow management, task documentation, and structured checklists to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery of client-specific tasks.
- Send templated emails, respond to straightforward client or accountant queries, and escalate complex issues to managers or senior bookkeepers when required.
- Maintain accurate records, follow structured workflows, and collaborate closely with the team to meet deadlines consistently.
- Perform other role-specific duties as they arise.
Requirements
Certificate IV in Accounting and Bookkeeping or equivalent qualification.Minimum 2–3 years of bookkeeping experience, ideally within a bookkeeping or accounting services environment.Strong proficiency in Xero (highly regarded), with experience in QuickBooks (highly advantageous) and MYOB (beneficial but less critical).Competence with workflow / task management platforms, preferably Pixie (Pure Workflow).Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills.Solid understanding of bookkeeping principles, including AP, AR, reconciliations, reporting, and BAS / IAS preparation (lodgement handled by BAS Agents).High attention to detail, accuracy, and strong organisational and time management skills to handle multiple client files.Team-oriented, collaborative, professional, and discreet in handling client financial data.Adaptable, process-driven, willing to learn, and committed to meeting deadlines.Benefits
