Ready to do work that actually excites you?
We are looking for a Civil Designer / CADD Operator responsible for developing and coordinating engineering designs across civil infrastructure projects, including roads, earthworks, and water systems. The role requires the ability to independently generate design solutions, collaborate closely with engineers, and iteratively refine designs to meet technical, regulatory, and project requirements. This role is critical for delivering accurate, compliant, and constructible civil design documentation that supports successful project outcomes.
What You'll Do:
You'll be the kind of person who:
- Develop detailed civil designs for roads, earthworks, drainage, and water infrastructure based on engineering requirements and project objectives.
- Produce and manage civil design models and drawings using AutoCAD and Bentley software platforms.
- Prepare concept, preliminary, and detailed design documentation in accordance with Australian standards and project specifications.
- Collaborate with engineers to review design intent, resolve technical issues, and refine design solutions through iterative workflows.
- Perform design calculations and apply engineering principles to support civil and water infrastructure designs.
- Utilize Bentley OpenRoads for road and corridor design, including alignments, profiles, and cross sections.
- Develop water and utility designs using Bentley Water and OpenPlant software where required.
- Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, including civil, mechanical, and water-related design elements.
- Conduct quality checks to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance of all drawings and models.
- Maintain organized design files and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.
Requirements
What You Bring:
We're looking for someone who:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or any related field is preferred.
- 3+ years of experience in civil design and documentation, preferably aligned with Australian projects.
- Demonstrated experience in civil infrastructure design, including roads, earthworks, and water systems.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for civil drafting and design documentation.
- Working experience with Bentley OpenRoads for road design and corridor modeling.
- Experience using Bentley Water and OpenPlant software is highly desirable.
- Strong design capability, with the ability to develop solutions independently rather than only following marked-up drawings.
- Background in mechanical design is an advantage, particularly for complex infrastructure coordination.
- Solid understanding of Australian design standards, codes, and documentation practices.
- Strong communication skills to effectively coordinate with engineers and stakeholders.
- High attention to detail, problem-solving ability, and strong organizational skills.
