Key responsibilities
Machine operation : Safely and efficiently set up, operate, and monitor machinery to meet production targets. This includes supplying raw materials and adjusting settings as needed.
Quality assurance : Inspect finished products for defects, ensure they meet quality standards, and conduct regular tests on machine performance.
Maintenance and troubleshooting : Perform routine maintenance, clean machinery, and troubleshoot any malfunctions that occur during a shift. For more complex issues, they must coordinate with supervisors.
Safety and compliance : Adhere to all health and safety regulations and guidelines, which may include specific procedures like those for handling steel, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and performing tasks in varied conditions.
Documentation : Create and maintain accurate records of production output, quality metrics, machine performance, and maintenance activities.
Physical demands : Perform tasks that may require physical stamina, such as bending, squatting, and lifting, sometimes in conditions that involve heat or water. Specific roles may require the use of tools like grinders, pry bars, and forklifts, and the ability to climb ladders or walk on uneven surfaces.
