Your impact

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Senior Rotating Equipment Engineer. As part of our team, you’ll have the chance to work on projects that bring innovative solutions to our power plant clients locally and worldwide.

You’ll be charged to perform Basic and Detailed engineering design on current projects to fulfill Departmental needs and support engineering operation within the Company. You will utilize discipline knowledge and design experience in the development of mechanical design, primarily for pumps, fans, compressors, equipment drivers, and ancillary support systems. You may also be assigned as Package Engineer with technical responsibility for the design of water treatment packages, air dryers, nitrogen generation packages, and material handling equipment. Here's what you'll need

• Perform Lead Engineer’s role for rotating equipment/packages, including monitoring of engineering progress and ensuring necessary information flow between disciplines to meet project milestones.
• Have technical accountability for the execution of rotating equipment design during concept, FEED through to EPC, and construction and commissioning support.
• Execute the project activities following Project requirements within the assigned budget, time schedule and quality standards.
• Review and raise clarifications on the ITB / Client documents / Contractual documents in case there are ambiguity in definition, lack of references, or areas of doubt.
• Perform preliminary machinery and relevant auxiliaries selection.
• Prepare, review and approve Mechanical engineering deliverables (specifications, datasheets, requisitions, TBE reports).
• Perform vendor drawing and document reviews, ensuring compliance with project requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in 3D model, HAZID, HAZOP, and Constructability review workshops; coordinates and closes out mechanical-related issues.
• Review and provide input to PFDs, P&IDs, material selection.
• Contributes to the development of interdisciplinary documents such as Basis of Design, Electrical Load List, I/O List, Loading data etc.
• Provide input and recommendations for equipment installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and project teams disciplines (process, civil, piping, instrumentation & controls, electrical, metallurgy, projects management, procurement, inspection, logistics, commissioning and construction) to ensure the successful integration of rotating equipment into overall project designs.
• Develop and review scope of work, budget, and activity schedules for projects during tender stage.
• Train and mentor local staff, as required.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering.
• Acted as Lead Mechanical/Rotating engineer, with at least 16 years of experience in engineering and design of rotating equipment in oil & gas, petrochemical, or power sectors. Primary areas of focus are on fuel gas and fuel oil supply system, water/wastewater system, and air/nitrogen utility systems.
• Experience in all phases of project execution from concept, FEED through to EPC, and construction and commissioning.
• Fully conversant with international codes and standards (API, ISO, ASME, NFPA, etc.), able to resolve conflicts based on accurate interpretation of requirements and understanding of code limitations.
• Proven ability to select rotating equipment types suitable for specific service conditions.
• Knowledge and experience in selecting preliminary compressor type and configuration independent from the equipment vendor.
• Knowledge and experience in the design and implementation of anti-surge systems for compressors.
• Knowledge and experience in specifying mechanical seals for pumps and dry gas seals for compressors.
• Experience in preparing technical specifications and evaluating vendor proposals, with competency in reviewing vendor exceptions and deviations.
• Familiarity with mechanical design principles, constructability, and maintainability.
• Experience in witnessing Vendor FAT and review test reports.
• Previous experience with equipment vendors is a plus.
