Senior WordPress Developer

Position Title: Senior WordPress Developer
Work Set-up: Work from Home
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 AM – 4:00 PM PH Time
Salary: Php 50,000 – Php 70,000 (4+ yrs experience)

Role Overview
We are seeking a Senior WordPress Developer to support and supervise our development team while remaining hands-on across WordPress development, migrations, and ongoing website maintenance.
This role reports directly to the Technical Director and is suited to an experienced developer who is comfortable taking ownership of complex technical work and guiding other developers.

Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership

• Provide technical guidance and day-to-day support to developers
• Review code and technical implementations to ensure quality and consistency
• Act as an escalation point for complex technical and production issues
• Mentor junior and mid-level developers
• Assist with the creation and maintenance of internal process documents

WordPress Development

• Develop and maintain custom themes, plugins, and integrations
• Build WordPress websites using modern best practices (custom themes/plugins, structured code, Git-based workflows, secure configuration, and performance optimisation)
• Ensure performance, security, and long-term maintainability

Migrations & Infrastructure

• Plan and execute WordPress website migrations across hosting environments
• Configure and troubleshoot DNS, SSL certificates, and domain changes
• Diagnose and resolve server-level and environment issues impacting WordPress sites
• Manage staging, production, and deployment workflows

Collaboration & Reporting

• Work closely with the Technical Director on technical decisions and standards
• Provide technical input into project scoping and delivery

Required Skills & Experience

• Senior-level commercial experience with WordPress development
• Strong PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and MySQL skills
• Proven experience building custom WordPress themes and plugins
• Hands-on experience with WordPress migrations
• Strong understanding of DNS, SSL, and server-level troubleshooting
• Experience reviewing and improving others’ code
• Proficiency with Git and modern development workflows
• Experience working with common hosting stacks (cPanel, managed WordPress hosting, or VPS environments)
