Role Statement

This role is an entry level role that involves reconciling accounts, producing reports and assisting with client’s statutory obligations under the supervision of Liam. The mission is for the employee to become fairly autonomous in this role and eventually grow into handling the reporting independently / overseeing others complete this work.

This is a new part of a new business. The employee would ideally learn the role in detail and then as the business size increases, grows into a role of checking and overseeing the work of others.

Key Role Activities

 Processing Accounts Payable tasks including data entry and reconciliations

 Entering and processing a variety of payrolls

 IAS / BAS preparation and lodgement

 Review and tidy of client data files in preparation for annual tax compliance

 Reconciling accounting files (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks etc.)

 Report compilation and checking

 Assisting in the Month End process

 Workpaper preparation for your Manager to review

 Provide general accounts administration support

 Reconciling accounting files (Xero, MYOB, QuickBooks etc.)

 Draft correspondence to clients

 Managing and tracking workflows for firm deliverables. Activity Statement, dashboards, reports

 Trend analysis and P&L reviews

 Apply broad skillset across data and analytics to understand business problems, create insights and

provide practical solutions

 Assist with creating process instructions and document operating processes

Selection Criteria

 No minimum experience required if they are recent graduate. Will accept candidates with up to one

year of experience, but happy to work with a fresh graduate.

 Completed or working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business or Commerce (majoring

in Accounting) Bachelor of Science in Accounting or Management Accounting or Accounting Technology (note Accounting Technology is ok for bookkeeper role but not for other roles)

Role Specific Competencies

 Commitment to quality service and client relationships

 Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

 Proficiency in key bookkeeping software (Xero etc.)

 Effective workflow and time management skills

 Meets total hours, chargeable hours and overall productivity percentage

Behavioural Competencies

 High level of attention to detail

 Well-developed computer literacy to ensure efficiency and productivity

 Display initiative and willingness to learn

 Exhibit well developed verbal and written communication

 Organised approach to work. Ability to manage lodgement timelines and provide deliverables to

clients in line with their expectations.
