Job description

We’re looking for a Bookkeeper to support a real estate operator with multiple small, ancillary business entities. This role is focused on day-to-day bookkeeping execution across holding companies, rental properties, and non-real-estate operating entities that sit alongside a larger accounting team.

You will own transaction-level bookkeeping work and keep each entity clean, accurate, and up to date in QuickBooks Online. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable managing multiple small sets of books, follows established processes closely, and takes pride in clean financial records.

If you enjoy structured work, clear SOPs, and supporting a growing portfolio without being pulled into high-level accounting or strategy, this role is a strong fit.

What You’ll Work On

Bookkeeping Execution

  • Maintain accurate books for multiple small business entities
  • Record and categorize transactions in QuickBooks Online
  • Reconcile bank and credit card accounts on a regular basis
  • Ensure transactions are coded correctly by entity and account
  • Accounts Payable and Expense Tracking

  • Review and record expenses and vendor payments
  • Ensure supporting documentation is properly attached in QBO
  • Flag missing information or inconsistencies for follow-up
  • Maintain clean expense records across all entities
  • Financial Hygiene and Reconciliation

  • Perform monthly reconciliations and basic close tasks
  • Identify discrepancies and resolve them proactively
  • Maintain organized financial records for internal review
  • Ensure books are always audit-ready and up to date
  • Process Adherence and Coordination

  • Follow established SOPs and accounting workflows
  • Coordinate with the internal accounting team when questions arise
  • Support clean handoffs for reporting, tax prep, or review
  • Manage multiple entities without letting details slip
  • What You Bring

  • 2 to 4+ years of bookkeeping experience
  • QuickBooks Online certification is required
  • Experience managing books for multiple small businesses or entities
  • Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers
  • Familiarity with real estate, rentals, or holding companies
  • Clear written English and professional communication
  • Ability to work independently and follow structured processes
  • Nice to Have

  • Experience supporting real estate operators or property portfolios
  • Familiarity with holding companies, rental entities, or small operating businesses
  • Experience working alongside in-house accounting teams
  • Comfort handling higher transaction volumes across multiple entities
