Role Overview
The Head of Equities will lead the overall equities investment function, driving strategy formulation, portfolio performance, and team development across multiple funds and mandates. This senior leadership role will play a central part in shaping investment direction, ensuring compliance with evolving market regulations, and strengthening the organization’s presence in both domestic and international investment communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and strategic guidance to a team of equity investment professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Develop, implement, and continuously refine equity investment strategies to optimize performance across diverse portfolios.
- Oversee day‑to‑day portfolio management, performance monitoring, and risk assessment, ensuring alignment with defined mandates and objectives.
- Collaborate with product, compliance, and legal teams on the design and development of equity and multi‑asset investment products.
- Ensure full adherence to internal governance frameworks and external regulatory requirements.
- Represent the investment function at key industry briefings, forums, and events, and deliver market insights to internal stakeholders globally.
- Provide expert investment commentary and analysis to support business development, sales, and marketing initiatives.
- Stay ahead of market and macroeconomic trends, translating insights into actionable investment strategies and thought leadership.
- Partner closely with senior executives across asset classes to ensure an integrated approach to investment management and client service.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or related field; postgraduate degree or MBA preferred.CFA charterholder or equivalent professional certification strongly preferred.At least 12–15 years of progressive experience in equity investment management or asset management, with a proven track record of portfolio performance and leadership.Solid background in managing equity funds or mandates across regional and / or global markets.Demonstrated ability to lead and develop investment teams, drive strategic initiatives, and deliver results under complex market conditions.Strong exposure to product development, compliance, and regulatory oversight within an investment or financial institution.Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify complex market insights for diverse audiences.Deep understanding of equity markets, valuation methodologies, risk management, and investment analytics.Performance Indicators
