Job description

REQUIREMENTS :

  • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related

technical field is the standard.

  • A fundamental understanding of storage concepts is crucial. This includes

    • familiarity with :

    o SAN (Storage Area Network) & NAS (Network Attached Storage) : The two

    primary types of storage and their use cases.

    o Protocols : Basic knowledge of NFS, CIFS / SMB, iSCSI, and Fibre Channel.

    o RAID : Understanding of different RAID levels and how they provide data protection.

  • A solid grasp of networking fundamentals is a must. This includes TCP / IP, DNS,

    • DHCP, and a basic understanding of switches and routing.

  • Familiarity with virtualization technologies.
  • Basic knowledge of server operating systems, such as Windows Server and Linux, is also important.

    • Practical and Technical Skills :

  • Willingness to learn : Since this is an entry-level role, a candidate is not expected to

    • be an expert. The most important quality is their eagerness to learn new

    technologies.

  • Troubleshooting Abilities : They should have a logical approach to diagnosing

    • technical issues.

    Soft Skills :

  • Communication : The ability to clearly and concisely explain technical concepts is

    • essential for working with a team and other departments.

  • Problem-Solving : The ability to think critically and solve problems is arguably the

    • most important skill for an engineer.

  • Teamwork : A willingness to collaborate and learn from more experienced engineers.
  • Proactive Attitude : An entry-level engineer should show initiative, be curious, and be

    • eager to take on new challenges.
