EMEA Compliance Officer(2nd Vice President)

The Banking and Markets business at Northern Trust is one of the fastest growing areas of our asset servicing business. The core products are institutional brokerage, global foreign exchange, securities financing & portfolio solutions as well as banking offerings such as Global Lending and Treasury Management. The compliance team that supports and oversees the business is a vital part of our control function & forms a solid advisory relationship with the business whilst keeping its own independence. This Global Banking and Markets Compliance Team sits within the corporate compliance function. Northern Trust is currently seeking to hire a compliance officer for its EMEA team to assist with its monitoring function. This role will report to the Global Head of Banking and Markets Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supporting the implementation of the global and regional Compliance Program for the EMEA Banking & Markets, including monitoring, testing compliance frameworks and executing against action plans;
• Liaising and maintaining excellent working relationships with stakeholders of all levels, providing assistance on compliance matters;
• Identifying and documenting compliance breaches where applicable;
• Representing compliance in relevant governance forums and committees;
• Active participation in EMEA Compliance team initiatives, and helping to develop the compliance culture within Northern Trust;
• Working in partnership with risk, compliance and controls team colleagues regionally / globally, including sharing of information and knowledge;
• Developing and executing compliance related projects.
