AutoCAD Drafter Job Description

The AutoCAD Drafter is responsible for producing accurate technical drawings and plans using AutoCAD and related drafting tools. This role supports architects engineers and project managers by preparing detailed layouts updating drawings and ensuring all design documents meet project standards. The Drafter must demonstrate excellent attention to detail strong technical skills and the ability to interpret design specifications clearly.

Key Responsibilities

Create update and revise detailed technical drawings plans and layouts using AutoCAD .

Develop 2D drafting for architectural structural mechanical or electrical components based on project needs.

Interpret sketches specifications and instructions from architects or engineers to produce accurate drawings.

Ensure drawings comply with industry standards project guidelines and company templates.

Maintain organized drafting files version controls and documentation records.

Assist in preparing construction documents diagrams sections elevations and detail drawings.

Coordinate drawing revisions according to feedback design updates or client changes.

Collaborate with project teams to resolve design discrepancies and ensure drawing accuracy.

Support the preparation of as-built drawings and final design packages.

Participate in improving drafting processes and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

Qualifications

Proficiency in AutoCAD (required).

Familiarity with basic drafting standards and technical drawing principles.

Strong attention to detail and ability to produce accurate work with minimal supervision.

Good communication and coordination skills with engineering or architectural teams.

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings plans and specifications.

Knowledge of Revit or other CAD tools is an advantage (optional).
