Echocardiography Technologist - Hv Cardiology - Part-Time - Days

Job Description : PURPOSE OF JOB : The Echocardiography Technologist is responsible for the independent operation of cardiac sonographic equipment and for performing and communicating results of diagnostic examinations utilizing cardiac ultrasound as well as assisting the physician during invasive procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS : Maintain clinical competency in transthoracic, stress, contrast and transesophageal echocardiography.

2. Provide patient care by performing / assisting with echocardiographic procedures as prescribed by a physician.

3. Assist with the daily operations of the Echo Lab.

4. Participates in the maintenance of IAC Echo accreditation and quality improvement projects.

Job Qualifications : QUALIFICATIONS : Education : High School graduate or equivalent, with emphasis in Physical or Biological Sciences.

Graduate of CAAHEP accredited ultrasound or CVT program preferable.

Experience : Minimum of twelve months of echocardiography practice experience and the performance of at least 600 echocardiogram / Doppler examinations, preferably in a hospital setting.

Credential in Adult / Pediatric echocardiography from the ARDMS or CCI required.

Other Skills : Good communication and customer service skills.

Current BLS certification.
