Program Background

SEAG2G provides resources to deepen and broaden relationships between Australian and Southeast Asian countries across four thematic priorities :

• Climate change and energy transition
• Education and skills
• Sustainable agriculture and food security
• Effective and inclusive public institutions

The two outcomes of SEAG2G include :

Gender equality, disability and social inclusion (GEDSI) are important priorities for SEAG2G. The program’s approach to GEDSI seeks to ensure that people in all their diversity benefit from SEAG2G activities through the identification and addressing of key GEDSI issues relevant to the program’s sectoral themes and activities.

SEAG2G is led by the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) Office of Southeast Asia, with DT Global as the managing contractor. The program works across Australia and Southeast Asia.

The Role

The Partnerships Lead will oversee the engagement with selected Australian government agencies. They will employ strong diplomatic, interpersonal and collaborative skills to work with officials, understand their perspectives and concerns, while also effectively communicating and advocating for alignment with other government agencies and departments. They will work with agencies to develop and implement activities and workplans, drawing on SEAG2G’s design, partnership brokering, procurement and logistics, monitoring and evaluation and GEDSI capabilities as required. They will support officials to engage effectively with their counterparts in Southeast Asian government agencies.

Partnerships Leads may also play designated ‘focal point’ roles on cross-cutting issues across the SEAG2G Implementation Team, in line with individual experience / expertise. These could include : gender equality and disability equity (with the Head of GEDSI and MEL); and climate and localisation mainstreaming (with the Leadership Team) or other issues as identified.
