Underwriting Officer Australian Consumer Finance Overview : As an Underwriting Officer you will be responsible for assessing applications for credit, evaluating the creditworthiness of potential borrowers, and ensuring that lending decisions are compliant with company policies, regulatory requirements, and responsible lending guidelines. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent analytical skills, and a good understanding of consumer credit lending processes.
Key Duties and Responsibilities : Credit Analysis :
- Conduct thorough analysis of consumer credit applications to assess risk and determine credit worthiness.
Financial Review :
Review and analyse financial documents, including income statements, credit reports, and bank statements, to evaluate borrowers' financial position and capacity to repay.Policy Compliance :
Ensure that all lending decisions comply with company policies, industry regulations, and legal requirements.Communication :
Liaise with customers by phone and email regarding the status of their application and for additional information required.Documentation :
Maintain accurate and detailed records of underwriting decisions, including rationales for approvals and denials, and ensure that all documentation meets audit and compliance standards.We’re Looking for :
