Company Overview :

A fast-growing manufacturer of custom-made seating, premium case goods, and décor for the hospitality industry ( including hotels, restaurants, and upscale commercial interiors ) is seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Furniture and Millwork Designer. This role is ideal for someone with a keen eye for design, who thrives in a collaborative environment and is eager to grow with a dynamic team.

As a Furniture and Millwork Designer , you will be responsible for developing shop drawings and 3D renderings using SolidWorks (mandatory) , based on customer specification packages. You will work closely with the Design Manager, company leadership, and the manufacturing team to bring custom FF&E items to life, ensuring design intent and manufacturing requirements are met.

Responsibilities :

Support the Design Manager and Design Technicians by overseeing technical details on casegoods, millwork, and furniture construction.

Create precise and detailed shop drawings, including accurate measurements, materials, and finishes.

Assist Project Managers and the Purchasing Coordinator by tracking changes and reviewing finish samples / fabrics as needed.

Communicate with manufacturing partners to ensure best practices in item construction and adherence to specs and tolerances.

Develop assembly and installation drawings for manufacturer and client approval.

Contribute to the development and maintenance of internal construction and design standards.

Apply expertise in millwork and furniture to support both clients and manufacturing teams.

Thrive in a fast-paced environment and maintain effective communication with designers, purchasing groups, and fellow industrial designers.

Requirements :

Minimum 2 years of experience creating manufacturing drawings using SolidWorks .

Proficiency in interpreting specifications and developing shop drawings from technical documentation.

Strong knowledge of millwork detailing (furniture experience is a plus).

Experience in luxury hospitality design is preferred.

Proven ability to manage and execute multiple projects simultaneously.

Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.

Excellent communication skills (verbal, written, and visual).

Ability to multitask while maintaining sensitivity to deadlines and time management.

Solid grasp of design principles and a strong aesthetic sense.
