The Payroll Manager is responsible for providing oversight and review of the entire payroll process as well as leading payroll projects and analysis. This encompasses weekly payroll for exempt and non-exempt personnel in the Philippines (currently approx. 900 employees), Belize (approx. 1,500 employees,) and Jamaica (approx. 700 employees., The Payroll Manager will have dotted-line managerial responsibility to the small team of accounting personnel in these locations who assist with the payroll process. The Payroll Manager will assist in training these personnel, improving and standardizing current processes where possible, and reviewing the final product and resulting journal entry into the accounting system.
Responsibilities and Duties
Payroll
- Oversight of weekly payroll (source data review, entries, payments, pay slips, reconciliations)
- Mentor and train accounting staff on payroll best-practices
- Periodical review of weekly payroll data report received for processing
- Oversees requests for data correction and additional payouts requested, as needed
- Performs final review of weekly payroll report
- Oversees Pay run, Payslip generation and payroll entries
- Ensures that data is correctly posted in Sage Intacct accounting system in a timely manner
- Enter period end accruals for payroll, 13th month, accrued vacation, etc.
- Compile and send weekly report for parent company review
- Reconcile period-end balance sheet for payroll-related accounts
- Assist with supplying payroll-related information for audits, as necessary
- Review of local employee handbooks for policies impacting payroll to ensure compliance
- Collaborate with Operations and other departments to improve overall process and accuracy

Continually reviews processes to ensure maximum efficiencyPeriodically evaluates software solutions for potential improvementsEnables standardization between sites when sensibleEnsures posted Payslips are accurate and reflect appropriate level of detail.
