Financial Controller
Summary
We are seeking a full-time Financial Controller to establish and manage the financial processes that will enable our organization to achieve economies of scale in its operations. This role has an anticipated start date of January 2025, and applications will be accepted until the position is filled.
The Financial Controller will play a critical leadership role, managing all aspects of financial operations and reporting. This position demands expertise in construction or homebuilding finance and a proven track record in cash flow management, forecasting, and compliance.

Works Closely With : Treasurer, external accounting firm, Senior Executive Assistant to the CEO, Director of Construction

Responsibilities
Accounts Payable & Receivable
Manage accounts payable processes, particularly construction-related payables, ensuring timely and accurate vendor payments.Oversee accounts receivable processes, including charitable grants and home sales documentation (HUD-1s).Bookkeeping & Compliance
Maintain accurate transaction coding and bookkeeping records aligned with organizational goals.Prepare and file IRS Form 990, ensuring compliance with all nonprofit financial regulations.Reconciliation & Reporting
Conduct monthly reconciliations of financial accounts.Generate detailed financial reports, including cash flow analysis, for leadership and stakeholders.Financial Strategy & Management
Develop and maintain cash flow forecasts.Manage loan disbursements and lender relationships.Provide strategic financial guidance to support organizational objectives.Stakeholder Engagement
Serve as the primary financial liaison to the Board of Directors, Treasurer, and Finance Committee.Present financial data and analysis to align stakeholders.Qualifications
Time Zone : Previous experience working according to Eastern Standard Time.Work Ethic : Thrive in high-pressure environments and deliver excellence.Experience : Proven experience as a Financial Controller, preferably in construction or homebuilding.Technical Expertise : Deep knowledge of accounting principles, forecasting, and nonprofit or construction compliance.Software Skills : Expertise in QuickBooks Online, Microsoft Excel, Office Suite, SharePoint, and project management tools.Analytical Skills : Strong ability to analyze financial data and present insights effectively.Communication : Fluent in English with excellent verbal and written skills.Certifications : CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required.Salary & Benefits
