Organizational Scope : As the Merchandising Operations Head, you will be responsible for leading the nationwide merchandising operations, overseeing the performance of retail merchandisers, and ensuring alignment with the overall strategic goals of the organization.
You will manage field and office teams, develop operational standards, and drive the continuous optimization of merchandising programs for key clients.Key Responsibilities : Develop and implement comprehensive merchandising strategies aligned with client and company goals.Lead the nationwide merchandising team, overseeing over 400 merchandisers and regional office staff.Monitor and optimize the day-to-day operations of merchandising activities, ensuring quality standards and KPIs are consistently met.Collaborate closely with client sales teams, marketing, and regional managers to address operational challenges and provide strategic support.Conduct market research to identify trends and adapt merchandising strategies accordingly.Analyze sales data, performance metrics, and customer feedback to improve merchandising effectiveness.Maintain regular field visits to assess on-ground performance, gather insights, and support team development.Manage annual merchandising budgets, forecasting, and resource allocation.Develop and enforce policies, guidelines, and systems for efficient operations and reporting.Oversee administrative functions including DTRs, CA processing, expense monitoring, and performance reports.Coordinate with recruitment and training teams to ensure proper staffing and continuous professional development of field personnel.Lead business development initiatives aimed at expanding service coverage and deepening client relationships.Ensure effective communication of client goals, merchandising plans, and brand standards across all levels of the team.Required Qualifications : Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Management, or a related field.Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising operations, preferably in a leadership or nationwide capacity.Strong background in client management, project coordination, and cross-functional team collaboration.Proven experience in developing and executing large-scale merchandising strategies.Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel (including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUP), and other reporting tools.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.Demonstrated leadership with a proactive, solutions-oriented mindset.Willingness to travel frequently for field monitoring and team support.Preferred Attributes : Experience working with recruitment or manpower agencies.Familiarity with promotional and brand-building activities.Effective in managing dispersed teams and remote operations.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and engage large teams.
