You will be a key contributor to our fast-growing business and will help to build our future as well as your own career.We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can delight clients through the provision of high quality, technology enabled solutions, who will become the main point of contact for the day-to-day delivery of services and has the ability to work under pressure to tight timeframes.Key ResponsibilitiesResponsible for the accounts payable and accounts receivable ledgers, including bank reconciliations and processing of journals using a variety of programs including Xero, MYOB, Dext, Lightyear and AccountKitPreparation of financial statements, income tax returns, group tax summary and loan summary for corporate and family groups including Trusts, Companies, Partnerships and IndividualsPreparation of payroll tax returns, FBT returns and activity statements;Communication with the ATO in relation to various client matters, e.g.
payment arrangements, remissions, extensions etc.
Working as part of a team where you will work closely with other intermediate and senior business services accountants;Use Xero for preparation of financials, tax return, billing & job managerAssist / review bank & payment mattersReporting in a timely and accurate manner to queriesProcessing month end transactions including accruals, prepayments, provisions, and depreciation.Assistance with the preparation of monthly or quarterly management accounts period end close processesPreparation of payroll tax and workers compensation reconciliations.Preparation of monthly / quarterly Business and Instalment Activity StatementsAssist with setting up clients on XeroAssist in the supervision and training of junior staffReview of tasks assigned to juniorsKeeping manager informed of progress and any issues arisingCommunicating and dealing with colleagues professionally and courteouslyTasks deemed necessary to ensure excellent customer experience as determined by managementQualifications / Skills5+ Years working in an Accounting role1-2 years' experience working in an accounting role for Australian businessesCompleted a Bachelor of Commerce degree (or equivalent)Experience of Xero or other cloud accounting packagesDesirable - experience with Dext, Lightyear, AccountKit, MYOB, Navision, NetSuite, SAPStrong numerical and IT skillsSound Microsoft Excel skillsHas the ability and willingness to learn new systems and tools, as neededExperience in delegating and reviewing junior team workExcellent interpersonal and communication skills including report writing skillsDemonstrated problem solving and decision making skillsWilling to lead and learn and be keen and committed in a working environment.
