We are seeking a senior Middleware Support Engineer with strong Linux and Windows administration skills to support Chubb's Middleware platforms, including WebSphere, Tomcat, and BizTalk. The role involves providing operational support, engaging with application teams for requirements gathering, collaborating with engineering on deployment specifications, and implementing solutions to enhance stability and improve customer experience.
Responsibilities :
- Implement and configure resources according to approved middleware patterns while onboarding and supporting enterprise applications on middleware platforms.
- Ensure application security by applying vulnerability patches and fixes on time, identifying opportunities for automation and process improvements, and coordinating with over 300 applications.
- Manage patching processes, including maintaining golden images, and support Axway or other SFTP / FTP products.
- Maintain platform stability and availability 24 / 7 by applying industry best practices in monitoring and alerting, and providing recommendations for configuration improvements.
- Provide administration support for IaaS and PaaS services, including backup, recovery, and initial problem determination.
- Coordinate with multiple teams for the successful implementation of middleware standards and integrations, including Single Sign-On and Load Balancers.
- Document environment build specifications, create technical documentation, and assist technical teams in identifying approved middleware patterns.
- Participate in on-call schedules, drive innovation and automation, and foster relationships with external lines of business while promoting a continuous improvement mindset within the team.
Qualifications :
BS / BA degree or equivalent experienceAt least 5 years relevant experience of middleware products such as WebSphere, Tomcat, and BizTalk.Support experience with Axway or other SFTP / FTP products, along with a proven IT track record in software development or production infrastructure management.Strong hands-on experience with Linux platforms and managing Windows systems.Proficient in developing and debugging scripts in BASH, PowerShell, and Python, with intermediate expertise in networking concepts.Excellent problem determination skills, capable of debugging complex cross-system issues and documenting root causes and remediation strategies.Practical experience with monitoring tools like Tivoli, SCOM, Netcool, Splunk, Grafana Suite, or ScienceLogic.Ability to set goals and project plans aligned with organizational objectives, and strong skills in partnering and influencing at all levels.Understanding of middleware, cloud, virtualization, and API technologies, with experience in agile and lean methodologies.Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to build strong relationships across internal and external groups.Knowledge of CI / CD development tools (., Jenkins, Jira, Git / BitBucket) and experience with process improvement and workflow evaluation, along with a strong understanding of insurance services and industry regulations.Benefits :
