Collections Specialist (Ophthalmology / Optometry)

MedCore Solutions is seeking a highly skilled Collections Specialist with a background in Ophthalmology / Optometry to join our dedicated team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the accounts receivable process, ensuring timely collections of outstanding payments, and maintaining positive relationships with patients and insurance providers. You will leverage your knowledge of the Ophthalmology / Optometry field to address billing inquiries and resolve disputes. Your expertise will contribute to our mission of providing exceptional healthcare administrative services.

Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee the collections process for Ophthalmology / Optometry accounts.
• Communicate effectively with patients and insurance carriers regarding outstanding balances.
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies for denied claims.
• Develop payment arrangements with patients, monitor payments, and follow-up on delinquent accounts.
• Maintain accurate records of collections interactions and update accounts accordingly.
• Collaborate with front office staff to ensure timely and accurate submission of claims.
• Adhere to all legal and compliance regulations regarding patient accounts.
• Prepare reports on accounts receivable status and collection activity.
