About the role
The Finance Manager is responsible for providing a leadership role in all aspects of the company's financial activities and leads the Finance team for the Philippines business. The role reports to the Country Manager of the Philippines and the dotted line reports to the APAC CFO.
As the Finance Director, you will :
Financial Management, Tax & Reporting
Provide a leadership role in all aspects of the company’s financial activities.
Manage the preparation of monthly closing of accounts and submission of financial reporting to the APAC Region.
Monitor and analyse profitability against budget / costing and overhead expenses.
Coordinate with APAC FP&A team on monthly financial performance analyses (e.g. revenue, margins, costs variance).
Supervise year-end closing :
Plan the accounting year-end closing.
Supervise closing process (liaising with auditors, tax agents, corporate secretary).
Review financial statements & tax returns in coordination with auditors / tax agents.
Calculation of tax payable (corporate tax, GST, other taxes), monitor tax payment and declarations supervised by tax agents if applicable
Ensure accounting principles and rules are understood and applied by the accounting team (e.g. revenue recognition, cut-off on sales & purchases, etc…).
Lead and prepare the yearly budget and forecasts with the Philippines Management team.
Cash Management
Monitor cash position and working capital.
Optimize the use of short-term bank lines.
Forecast short term cash flows in Group Treasury System (Kyriba).
Liaise with local banks with support of APAC regional finance team on regular daily activities and for yearly renewal of bank facilities.
Drive various funding initiatives (e.g. multiyears, factoring, supply chain finance) with the support of APAC Regional Finance.
Payroll
Responsible for employees’ commissions / bonus calculations based on commissions schemes provided by Management
Responsible for payroll preparation and payment
Working Capital Management
Monitor and follow-up on AR collections to drive DSO improvements.
Monitor and control inventory to drive DIO improvements.
Track A / Ps and coordinate with APAC Regional Finance to drive DPO improvements.
Credit Risk Management
Monitor and follow-up on AR collections with objective to improve DSO.
Help to manage the local credit risk exposure in collaboration with APAC Credit Manager (credit limits & credit risk exposure assessment, optimization of customer payment terms).
Support the Philippines sales and management team in the review of ad-hoc special deals (e.g. milestone deals, preloads).
Internal Controls & Compliance
Ensure effective internal control systems are in place.
Help implement internal procedures across functional areas (e.g. finance, operations, marketing).
Prepare compliance reporting, highlight significant risks, etc.
Business Partnering
Review monthly country performance dashboard with the Philippines Country Manager and Management Team :
Provide insightful analysis of the financial performance of the business.
Highlight variances and possible improvement areas.
Drive fortnightly Business and Finance Review (BFR) review and improvement action items.
Support the sales team in the deal assessment and approval process.
Provide ad-hoc analyses and reporting to support the Philippines business strategy and timely / relevant management decision-making.
Help the Country Manager review commissions and MBO pay-outs and provide recommendations as applicable.
Develop a budget based on country strategy and priorities.
Monitor and assess customer rebate programs and assess financial impacts per deal / on a yearly basis.
Stock :
monitor stock levels and coordinate action plans to reduce slow-moving stocks.
help to assess vendors’ stocking requests.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
About you
The ideal Finance Director :
Minimum 10 years of working experience in accounting / finance roles.
Business / commercial-minded individual with extensive business partnering experience in the IT / Cybersecurity industry.
Strong accounting and financial background.
Proven leadership skills. Ability to organize / allocate / delegate tasks to the team while maintaining a hands-on attitude.
Efficient, hard-working, and positive work attitude. Self-motivated, and able to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines.
Good communication and interpersonal skills (good command of written and verbal English).
Excellent analytical skills. Meticulous and proficient in MS Office especially in MS Excel.
Willing to work for an international group.
