Position Overview :
The Leave Specialist is responsible for administering and managing employee leave programs while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires a high level of attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to navigate complex multi-state leave requirements.
Key Responsibilities :
- Manage all aspects of employee leave programs, including FMLA, ADA, state-specific leave laws, Paid Family Leave (PFL), and short-term / long-term disability plans.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on leave policies, guiding employees and clients through the leave process.
- Complete and submit required paperwork and claims to third-party carriers.
- Communicate approvals, denials, and return-to-work processes to employees and employers.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all documentation complies with leave policies and regulations.
- Research and interpret state-specific leave laws, providing detailed explanations to clients and employees.
- Monitor and track leave submissions, ensuring timely follow-ups on pending items.
- Collaborate with HR, payroll, and other internal teams to ensure accurate leave administration.
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations, ensuring all sensitive information is handled confidentially.
Technical Requirements
Required Hard & Soft Skills :
Experience : At least 2 years of experience in leave administration or related HR roles.Education : Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.Technical Skills : Proficiency in HRIS systems and leave management platforms.Soft Skills : Strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate complex leave policies effectively.Work Modality :
On-Site at a HIPAA-compliant location, with flexibility for remote collaboration as needed.Shift : Monday - Friday, 8 : 30am-5 : 30pm, EST

This role requires a consultative and empathetic approach to ensure employees and clients receive accurate and timely leave-related support. Familiarity with multi-state leave laws is a strong advantage.
