DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESLegal Research and Presentation : Conduct legal research and applicable laws and jurisprudence on various issues concerning the concession of the company.Prepare legal opinion and / or memorandum on matters that need to be addressed by the company.Provide expert and strategic legal advice to management.Draft Correspondence and Legal Documents : Draft necessary pleadings concerning toll rate adjustments.Draft letters to various government offices in relation to the concession.Ensure that the key issues and needs of the company are addressed.Represent the Company : Attend various meetings with various government offices and to advocate on behalf of the company to said government agencies and other organizations.Work collaboratively with other organizations and networks where appropriate.Liaise with other legal services.Contract Drafting and Review : Draft and / or contracts and agreements and monitor legal obligations under agreements to ensure compliance.Prepare drafts for contracts and / or amendments / revisions to an existing contract.Review the proposed contract to ensure that the interests of the company is well-protected and sufficiently covered.Compare and contrast different contracts entered into by the company and to come up with suggested revisions.Others : Evaluate and weigh multiple inputs and impacts of any decision or course of action.Ensure compliance with laws, rules, and regulations, as well as, internal policies and guidelines.Identify potential legal and regulatory issues that may pose a risk, in order to negate or mitigate any liability against the company.Performs other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONSEducation : Requires a Bachelor's Degree in Law or a closely related fieldSpecialized knowledge : Must have excellent knowledge and understanding of Philippine laws and jurisprudenceSkills (including any technical or interpersonal skills) : Excellent judgment and analytical Skills; Excellent Time Management Skills; Strong Prioritization and Organization Skills; Exceptional Communication (oral and written) in drafting high-value legal documentation, which must be clear, unambiguous, concise, and conclusive, leaving no room for misinterpretation or manipulation; Presentation Skills; Exceptionally good skills in the legal negotiation such as mergers and acquisitions, tender bidding, and contract negotiations; Technical Skills, including experienced in developing, maintaining, and revising management procedures and processes; proficiency with Microsoft Office ProgramsAbilities : Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from project / operations and requiring coordination with other units; Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines; Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures; Ability to work as a team member and also independentlyOther characteristics : Strong attention to detail; proactive in problem-solving and getting issues resolved, and take the initiative for proper and timely action in all respects; Maintains professionalism at all times; Well-motivated and has an initiative to do work; Trustworthy; Ability to work with minimal to zero supervisionProfessional Certification (Licenses needed) : Philippine Bar Exam PasserExperience : Four to five years of working experience working in a corporate legal capacity within a fast-paced, fast-evolving, and dynamic environment, or related experience preferred with more than 3 years supervisory experience.
Must have successful experience leading negotiations on complex, high-value, contracts, and agreements.
