Home Co., we're looking for a Remote Residential Estimator to help build and own our estimating function as we continue to grow.This is an estimator-first role with project coordination as a secondary responsibility. You'll work directly with leadership to develop project scopes, prepare accurate estimates, manage budgets throughout preconstruction, and help create the systems that support our long-term growth.We're looking for someone who enjoys improving processes, embraces technology, and wants to make a lasting impact on a growing residential remodeling company.What You'll DoEstimating & PreconstructionDevelop detailed estimates for residential remodeling, renovation, and addition projectsReview architectural plans, specifications, and design documents to create complete project scopesPerform accurate quantity takeoffs and cost analysisPrepare and issue bid requests to subcontractors and suppliersEvaluate vendor and subcontractor pricingCreate purchase orders and maintain purchasing documentationProcess and price change orders throughout the project lifecycleMaintain and update project budgets as designs evolveIdentify scope gaps, missing information, and potential cost risks before construction beginsSupport weekly budget reviews with homeowners and the internal teamProject Coordination SupportAssist with preconstruction coordination as projects move from design into productionHelp organize project documentation, specifications, selections, and schedulesSupport communication between estimating, design, and production teamsMaintain accurate project records and documentationAssist with administrative and coordination tasks that keep projects moving efficientlySystems & Process ImprovementHelp build and document B. Home Co.'s estimating systems and workflowsContinuously identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, and accuracyLeverage AI tools to streamline repetitive tasks and improve productivityBecome the company's subject matter expert for JobTread estimating workflowsMaintain organized estimating databases and historical pricing informationWhat We're Looking ForAt least 2 years of residential remodeling estimating experience preferredStrong understanding of American residential construction methods, materials, and terminologyAbility to independently read and interpret residential construction plans and specificationsExperience developing detailed project estimates from concept through constructionAdvanced proficiency with JobTread is highly preferredProfessional experience using AI tools such as Claude and Cowork to improve productivity and workflowsExcellent written and verbal English communication skillsStrong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detailAbility to manage multiple estimates while meeting deadlinesComfortable working independently while collaborating closely with leadershipExperience with Bluebeam, PlanSwift, Buildertrend, or similar estimating software is a plusBackground in Architecture or Civil Engineering is a strong advantageExperience supporting U.S.-based residential remodeling companies is highly preferredThe Ideal CandidateYou enjoy solving problems, creating efficient systems, and producing accurate work.
