Job descriptionAdvanced certification in Exercise Science through the American College of Sports Medicine (ASCM) or National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). Established research agenda with evidence of extramural funding. Evidence of quality teaching and meaningful service. Experience teaching courses relevant to aging / gerontology. Focus on interdisciplinary research addressing current topics related to aging / gerontology. Demonstrated record of scholarly / creative achievement through presentation, publication, and / or performance commensurate with career stage. Demonstrated experience and commitment to collegial and collaborative engagement with colleagues to support an increasing, diverse, multicultural student population. Experience with and commitment to the use of instructional technology, a willingness to cultivate an interdisciplinary perspective; and a demonstrated commitment to professional development. Experience or commitment to the use of technology in distance learning & university teaching. Interest in collaborating both within and outside the University in the development and delivery of instruction resulting in improved student learning. Must value continued scholarship and service to the school and university. Ability to communicate effectively (both written and oral). Required Qualifications
- Earned doctorate (Ph.D. or Ed.D.) in Exercise Physiology or related health profession from a regionally accredited institution. Previous teaching experience in an Exercise Science program or similar.
- Master’s degree in Exercise Science from a regionally accredited institution.
- Established record of scholarly productivity in the area of exercise science and / or aging / gerontology as well as evidence of quality teaching and meaningful service (in line with a faculty member at the rank of Associate / Full Professor).

Appointment will be made on a 9-month multi-year appointment basis available August 2024.
