Peterson Health is seeking a skilled and experienced Decision Support Analyst to join our Financial Operations team. As a Decision Support Analyst, you'll be part of our Financial Operations team, working closely with the Decision Support Manager. Your primary responsibility is to create and interpret complex financial analyses and reports, aiding management in making strategic decisions. You'll handle various analytical tasks, including budgeting, business plan development, service line reporting, revenue analysis, and ad hoc projects. This role requires a solid understanding of financial and clinical data from multiple sources, along with the ability to synthesize information for effective organizational planning.

You will be a bridge between Finance, Administration, and Operations, ensuring smooth communication across these departments. As an expert in Decision Support and Cost Accounting, you will have a thorough knowledge of financial systems and patient data sources, contributing to strategic discussions and decisions.

Key  Responsibilities

  • Develop expertise in financial reporting systems and support the maintenance of Strata applications for decision support, cost accounting, and benchmarking.
  • Conduct detailed financial analyses, including service line reporting, cost / revenue assessments, business plan development and budgeting. These analyses will cover volume, reimbursement, payer mix, and operating costs.
  • Present results in clear, actionable formats, often using data visualization tools. Work closely with requestors to ensure accurate interpretation of results.
  • Prepare and maintain monthly reports / dashboards to monitor key financial and operational metrics.
  • Serve as a liaison between Finance, Administration, and other hospital departments.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce redundancy in data preparation across various departments.
  • Stay updated on emerging trends in healthcare analytics, financial analysis, and best practices to ensure the hospital remains at the forefront of data-driven decision-making.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics / Science, Healthcare Informatics, Statistics, or a related field.

Preferred Education

Master's degree in related field.

Required Technical Skills

Knowledge of reporting, financial and cost accounting systems (Strata) and electronic medical records systems (Meditech and Athena). Excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with peers, supervisors, and senior leadership. Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. Strong proficiency in data analysis tools like Excel is required. Capable of synthesizing complex data sets and communicating findings effectively to different audiences. Self-driven with a creative approach to problem-solving, able to work independently while meeting strict deadlines. Commitment to confidentiality and integrity, especially with sensitive information that may fall under HIPAA regulations.

Preferred Technical Skills

Additional experience in Power BI or similar data visualization tools is preferred.

Required Experience :

Minimum of three years' experience as a Healthcare, Financial or Decision Support Analyst.
