Compliance – Backend Engineer Location : Remote, Philippines

Team : Compliance Engineering

As a Software Engineer on the Compliance Engineering team, you will play a key role in building and maintaining services that support compliance operations, integrating with internal systems and third-party providers. You'll collaborate closely with other engineers, product managers, and compliance professionals to ensure our systems are robust, scalable, and secure

Key responsibilities :

  • Develop and maintain backend services using Java and Kotlin
  • Build APIs that integrate with internal tools and third-party services
  • Work with relational and NoSQL databases to support large-scale data processing
  • Participate in system design discussions and contribute to technical solutions
  • Collaborate in code reviews and contribute to improving code quality across the team
  • Write unit and integration tests to ensure high reliability and stability
  • Continuously improve CI / CD pipelines for build and deployment workflows
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand compliance needs and translate them into technical solutions

Required skills :

  • Solid experience with Java or Kotlin (1-3 years preferred)
  • Understanding of RESTful API design and microservices architecture
  • Familiarity with relational databases (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL)
  • Basic knowledge of Docker and CI / CD pipelines
  • Strong problem-solving mindset and willingness to learn
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills

    • Nice-to-Have :

  • Experience working with message queues (Kafka, RabbitMQ, etc.)
  • Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
  • Interest in blockchain or fintech industries
  • Familiarity with frontend technologies (e.g., React) is a bonus
