Join to apply for the Senior Process Engineer role at Allegro MicroSystems
The Allegro team is united by a clear purpose—advancing technologies that make the world safer, more efficient, and more sustainable. With over 30 years of experience in semiconductor innovation, we bring that purpose to life across every part of the business—from breakthrough product development and customer success to how we show up for each other and the communities we serve.
Overview
This role is a critical contributor to the semiconductor manufacturing operations, responsible for the development, optimization, and continuous improvement of assembly processes. This role ensures the manufacturability, quality, and reliability of our products by establishing robust process parameters, implementing advanced quality tools, and driving efficiency enhancements. The Process Engineer will play a key role in new product introductions, equipment qualification, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical challenges.
What You Will Do
- Lead the setup, development, and parameter optimization of new and existing assembly processes to achieve target yields, quality, and cycle times.
- Spearhead the generation of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) for new assembly processes and conduct thorough reviews and updates of existing FMEAs to mitigate potential risks.
- Design, develop, and / or qualify jigs, fixtures, and tools to enhance machine efficiency, improve product quality, and reduce manufacturing defects.
- Generate and / or review comprehensive equipment specifications and qualification procedures, including supporting documentation for Production Acceptance Review (PAR) of new equipment.
- Lead or participate in machine qualification activities and ongoing monitoring, including conducting equipment buy-off at supplier sites. Recommend and implement machine modifications or upgrades whenever necessary to optimize performance and reliability.
- Generate, interpret, and regularly update process and material specifications, control plans, and flowcharts for all in-house assembly operations and products.
- Ensure all documentation adheres to company policies, industry standards, and best practices, facilitating clear communication and process control.
- Issue specific product information and guidelines required for testing, processing, and handling to relevant production teams.
- Coordinate and resolve quality, manufacturability, process control, and reliability issues by effectively interfacing with internal (e.g., Design, Test, Quality) and external customers / suppliers.
- Initiate, develop, and implement new systems, procedures, and services for continuous process improvement, focusing on efficiency, cost reduction, and defect prevention.
- Actively apply core quality tools such as Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), FMEA, Measurement System Analysis (MSA), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) to ensure process robustness and product quality.
What You Will Bring
