Our client is a boutique accounting firm led by Chartered Accountant Emelia Afful, who brings over 15 years of experience in tax and business advisory. JOB DESCRIPTION AS AN AU ACCOUNTANT
Your Responsibilities as an AU Accountant will be :
- Prepare and lodge individual tax returns and handle sole trader accounts
- Manage bookkeeping tasks including bank reconciliations, accounts payable / receivable
- Ensure accurate GST compliance and submissions
- Maintain clean and accurate records using Xero Practice Manager
- Provide basic support in company and trust accounting
- Assist with SMSF-related processes using BGL (if candidates has prior experience)
- Proactively identify and escalate potential issues
- Collaboration with Emelia to ensure quality outcomes
- Strict adherence to the firm’s data protection and confidentiality standards
- Weekly blog generation content for our socials – CANVA experience will be bonus
Qualifications as an AU Accountant :
Graduate of Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or equivalent college educationAtleast 1-2 years of proven work experience with Australian Accounting firms, tax laws and practices.Proficiency in Xero, particularly for bank reconciliations and bookkeepingStrong understanding of GST and compliance requirementsExperience with processing individual, companies and trusts tax returnsHigh attention to detail and a proactive approach to issue resolutionExcellent MS Excel Skills and experienceStrong communication skills and attention to detail are crucial.Ability to work effectively under supervision and as part of a team.Transparent and honest in communication with a strong sense of accountability.Familiarity with BGL 360 software for SMSFs is a plusYour love for Boomering will jump-start with these meaningful engagement activities and perks.
