Job description

Planate Management Group (PMG) is a Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) headquartered in Alexandria, Virginia, and Orlando, Florida USA with technical support centers in South East Asia and East Africa, that provide program management and facilities engineering services worldwide. Planate is a small business provider of planning, design, infrastructure management, technical consulting, engineering, and construction management services in support of the US Department of Defense (DOD) and its Service (Army, Air Force, Navy, Marine Corps) missions, along with other US federal agencies, all over the world.

The QA / QC Engineer will be responsible for providing technical assistance in answering requests for information (RFI) from construction contractors. Also, administer the Construction Quality Management Program as required in the construction contract specifications.

Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Provide overall coordination of the construction quality management program for assigned projects
  • Provide recommendations toward approval of contractor quality control plan
  • Assist Engineers in site investigations and development of requirements for new and planned projects and development of cost estimates
  • Assist in drafting and preparing project package for solicitation and reviewing contractor design and material submittals Attend selective quality control, preparatory and initial meetings, and monitor three-phase checklists for accuracy and thoroughness
  • Provide relevant remarks on Government Quality Assurance (QA) reports (or in identified section of Contractor’s Quality Control (QC) reports), particularly on critical, definable features of work included
  • Validate quantity, condition, and approval of materials on site prior to Government issuing invoice payments
  • Attend / witness selected tests and review all applicable test reports and results
  • Keep the Government sponsor advised as to the status of projects under his / her administrative and technical control, but the responsibility to plan and carry out the assignment is accomplished independently
  • Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.

Qualifications to be successful in the role :

  • Degree in Engineering with an additional 5 years of relevant experience with construction contracts development, design, construction, cost estimating and facilities inspection
  • Must be a Licensed Engineer
  • Minimum 7 years of progressively responsible experience in construction work with emphasis on materials testing, quality control and assurance, laboratory testing and a firm understanding of requirements and specifications of testing and materials.
  • Must have CQM and EM385 Training
  • Demonstrated experience in pre-stressing works and quality control, and experience in different classes of concrete mix-design, under different conditions of construction procedures.
  • Excellent English in written and verbal communication skills.
  • Able to drive and with a valid driver’s license. Must be willing to travel to different project sites.

    • Based on market data, the salary range is Php 30,000.00-Php 45,000.00 per month (actual amount depends on experience and skills). This position will be deployed to different project locations in the Philippines.
