Job Summary

The Drug Test Analyst is a Licensed Medical Technologist primarily responsible for performing, validating, and reporting drug testing procedures with a high degree of accuracy and adherence to national standards set by the Department of Health (DOH) and other regulatory bodies. The analyst must strictly follow the Chain of Custody protocol for all specimens and maintain meticulous documentation.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

Specimen Analysis :

Perform screening and confirmation drug tests (e.g., Urine)

Ensure all analytical procedures are performed accurately, efficiently, and according to established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Maintain and operate laboratory equipment related to drug testing, including routine calibration and troubleshooting.

Quality Control and Validation :

Perform daily quality control (QC) checks, record results, and implement corrective actions when QC failures occur.

Assist in the validation and correlation of new drug testing methodologies or equipment.

Compliance and Documentation :

Strictly adhere to the Chain of Custody (COC) protocol for all specimens to ensure legal defensibility of results.

Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all analyses performed, equipment logs, and quality control data.

Ensure all drug testing processes comply with the guidelines set by the Department of Health (DOH) for drug testing laboratories.

Reporting :

Accurately and timely encode, verify, and release drug test results to the authorized personnel.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Education : Must possess a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) in Medical Technology from a recognized educational institution.

License : Must have a Valid and Current Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) License as a Medical Technologist.

Certification : Must possess a Valid Drug Test Training Certificate from a DOH-accredited training institution.

Experience : At least six months' experience as a Licensed Medical Technologist (Drug Test Analyst) in a diagnostic laboratory.

Core Competencies :

Proven experience in laboratory testing and analysis, particularly in toxicology or drug screening.

High level of detail-orientation and commitment to accuracy in handling specimens and data.

Strong knowledge of Chain of Custody procedures and DOH regulatory requirements for drug testing.
