The Executive Housekeeper has the overall responsibility for the cleanliness of assigned areas of the hotel and ensures efficient operation of the Housekeeping Department. He / she will purchase, store, and control housekeeping-related items and conduct inventories. Additionally, he / she is responsible for associate morale, guest focused hospitality, achieving budgetary goals and inter-departmental relations.
A good candidate should have work experience in the same capacity and has thorough knowledge on guestroom and bathroom cleaning, make-up and “turn down” bed procedures and lastly, should have adequate knowledge on the proper use and maintenance of housekeeping equipment.
The Executive Housekeeper should work closely with and gain a working knowledge of Front Office, Accounting and the necessary aspects of Food & Beverage and Engineering. He / she should also ensure that the Assistant Executive Housekeepers and Housekeeping Supervisors continually inspect their assigned areas and turn in their room inspections.
