Salesforce CPQ Developer

Job Description

• Contract type : Independent Contractor
• Schedule 40 hours / week; Monday to Friday 8 : 30am to 5 : 30 pm EST
• Client time-zone : ET (Florida)

We are looking for an experienced Salesforce Developer with strong expertise in Salesforce CPQ to join our growing team. This role will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Salesforce CPQ solutions to support our sales, quoting, and revenue operations. The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation in Salesforce platform development and hands-on experience implementing CPQ features such as product bundling, pricing rules, quote templates, and advanced approvals.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable Salesforce CPQ solutions that align with business requirements.

Customize Salesforce using Apex, Visualforce, Lightning Web Components (LWC), and SOQL.

Implement CPQ features including product configuration, pricing rules, discount schedules, and guided selling.

Develop custom Quote Templates and manage document generation workflows.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Sales, Finance, Operations) to understand quoting and billing processes.

Support integrations between Salesforce and external systems (e.g., ERP, billing, payment gateways).

Ensure system integrity through effective unit testing, code reviews, and release management.

Maintain and optimize CPQ processes, troubleshoot issues, and apply enhancements as needed.

Follow Salesforce best practices for coding, security, and performance.

Document technical solutions, system configurations, and end-user guides as required.

Required Skills & Qualifications

3+ years of Salesforce development experience, including Apex, LWC, Visualforce, and SOQL.

2+ years of hands-on experience with Salesforce CPQ (formerly SteelBrick) .

Strong understanding of CPQ objects and relationships : Quote, Quote Line, Product Rules, Price Rules, Discount Schedules, etc.

Experience with Advanced Approvals , Guided Selling , and Renewals / Amendments .

Familiarity with Salesforce APIs , Salesforce DX , and DevOps tools like Copado, Gearset, or AutoRABIT.

Proficient in version control systems (e.g., Git) and Agile development practices.

Salesforce CPQ Specialist Certification is strongly preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

Nice to Have

Experience with Salesforce Billing or Revenue Cloud .

Integration experience with middleware platforms (MuleSoft, Dell Boomi, Jitterbit).

Experience with CI / CD pipelines and automated deployments.

Salesforce Platform Developer II or Salesforce Sales Cloud Consultant Certification.
