Accountant (CPA)

Job Summary:

We are looking for a reliable and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to oversee the financial operations, reporting, and compliance activities of a growing company in the retail and garment services sector. This role ensures accurate bookkeeping, tax compliance, and financial transparency to support operational and strategic decision-making.

The ideal candidate is a licensed CPA with strong experience in general accounting, BIR reporting, and internal controls, and is capable of supporting both day-to-day transactions and month-end processes.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements, ledgers, and journal entries.
• Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual closings in accordance with local accounting standards.
• Oversee tax computations and filings, including VAT, withholding tax, and income tax returns.
• Ensure compliance with government reporting requirements (BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, etc.).
• Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable/receivable, and inventory balances.
• Support audits and provide documentation as needed for internal and external reviews.
• Monitor budget vs. actual performance and flag variances for review.
• Recommend improvements to financial processes, controls, and reporting accuracy.
• Coordinate with other departments for expense tracking, purchasing, and financial support.

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Accountancy; must be a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
• At least 3 years of experience in accounting roles, preferably within a retail, service, or SME environment.
• Strong knowledge of local tax laws, BIR reporting requirements, and statutory compliance.
• Proficient in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, or similar) and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
