Job Purpose
Lead and manage the bank’s accounting and reporting functions, ensuring accurate data, timely financial reports, and compliance with regulatory requirements. Lead and mentor the accounting team, optimize processes, and drive technology adoption.
Duties and Responsibilities
General
- Develop and enforce internal control policies and procedures.
- Monitor controls and implement improvements as needed.
- Provide accurate and timely financial data for decision‑making.
- Lead and develop the accounting and regulatory reporting team.
Disbursement & Bookkeeping
Oversee payment processing, ensuring accuracy and compliance.Manage month‑end and year‑end closing processes.Prepare the trial balance and resolve discrepancies.Review daily bookkeeping and adjustments.Regulatory Reporting and Compliance
Stay updated on and implement changes to BSP, PDIC, SEC and other regulatory requirements.Prepare and submit regulatory reports in coordination with UCAD.Handle audit requirements and engagement preparations.Reconciliation
Reconcile all bank accounts and resolve discrepancies.Improve reconciliation processes for efficiency and accuracy.Monitor float items and ensure timely disposal.Tax Compliance
Ensure compliance with local and national tax laws and regulations.Prepare and file tax returns, including income tax, GRT and other applicable taxes.Coordinate with BPI Tax Compliance Unit on reviews and tax policy consistency.Liaise with tax authorities and advisors for audits and issue resolution.#J-18808-Ljbffr
