Overview
Identify, measure, assess, monitor and control the credit risks of the bank in accordance with the bank\'s risk appetite. Lead the team to perform effective management of credit risk, work as second line of defense independent of front line, and guide front line for balancing the risk taking and achieving business target. Support senior management in credit risk related decision making and strategy setting.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the bank\'s credit risk management framework and implementation thereof.
- Review and enhance credit risk management policies to cope with new strategic planning, business development, regulatory requirement changes, external and internal auditor requirements. Establish a testing methodology to check if these policies are being implemented by frontline, due diligence officers and back office.
- Supervise credit risk management activities. Enhance quality and efficiency of credit risk management functions by streamlining workflow.
- Provide comments and formulate guidelines from a credit risk management perspective for credit related projects, to support new business development (including commodities related trade financings).
- Provide guidance to strengthen credit monitoring of frontline, oversee credit risk of the credit portfolio and keep track of changes in credit asset quality.
- For credit related supervisory requirements, maintain good communication with supervisory authorities, internal and external auditors.
- Supervise the review of credit applications and obligor ratings. Ensure that the business is guided on drafting good quality credit proposals and provide assessment and feedback to CBD on the quality of credit proposals.
- Monitor risk profile, keep track of changes in credit asset quality and review loan classification grades.
- For new business development, participate in the development process and provide comments from a credit risk perspective. Promote use of new risk management methodology.
- Oversee the collection and reporting of credit risk information.
- Ensure compliance of credit business with local regulatory and internal audit requirements, and that all control measures are appropriate to the scope of job functions implemented to minimize credit risk exposures of the Bank.
- Seek, participate in, and provide suitable training courses to enhance staff development.
