As a Department Head, you will be responsible for:
- Overseeing and ensuring high quality and timely delivery of all projects of the unit and upkeep of the applications and platforms owned by the unit.
- Developing a full understanding of how the department work and be able to orchestrate across all units and other units.
- Managing all escalations and resolutions.
Duties and responsibilities:
Accountability to ITG:
• Share the delegated responsibility of the head, and own full accountability for delivery in the assigned unit.
• Ensure teaming across the ITG to ensure seamless delivery.
• Enforce the adherence to IT SDLC and Governance structure.
Accountability to Business:
• Ensure a good understanding of the key business unit strategic direction for the unit application/ Ensure good understanding of the platform strategic directions and alignment to BDO architecture.
• Ensure the right people are assigned to support the unit in delivering an approved business case, assignment of right delivery managers.
• Assign necessary support to the unit in service definition phase to validate scope, develop requirements and identification of right delivery ownership.
• Manage all escalation from Business and BTS teams
Accountability to Department:
• Full accountability to the quality delivery of applications and platforms.
• Manage the capacity plan and ensure appropriate level of staffing in each team.
• Ensure adequate competency available for delivery managers and architects.
• Identify and optimize how resources can be leveraged across delivery teams within unit and potentially across.
• Timely escalation of issues in delivery, capacity or individual performance
• Oversight of all the vendors and solution providers handled by the unit.
• Point of escalation for all delivery team leads and team members.
• Support issue resolutions and risk management during execution.
• Ensure the team has the right level of support to build competency by planning trainings and other enablement sessions.
• Conduct performance reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree relevant to the job
- 20+ years of application delivery experience in financial services, 15+ years specialization in focus areas for the department.
- Experience managing 3rd party SI and evaluating and managing SW vendor
- Must be willing to work onsite and be assigned in Ortigas.
